Break Pal Challenge

Hello fellow Break Palers,

Wanted to say congratulations to everyone. I'm quite impressed with all the points being racked up. Michele Lord (http://www.breakpal.com/users/michele-lord) is still in the lead. She's relentless but cja1976 (http://www.breakpal.com/users/cja1976 ) is always right on her tail. Watch out though, some of the newcomers are coming on strong.

I noticed that Mrselaineous (http://www.breakpal.com/users/mrselaineous) has some good things to say and has issued a challenge in her profile. You might want to stop by and say hi to her and cheer her on. Or take her up on her challenge.

I just wanted to point out that you might be even more inspired if you used more of the features of the site. Specifically the friends feature. Go to someones profile and click on the friend link in the upper left. This will initiate a friend request. When you are friends with someone on the site it will show up in your profile and also show your friends current points. Current points are the points earned in the last 7 days.

Your Inner World Creates Your Outer World

Something I've noticed lately is the little things people do to sabotage themselves. Little tiny things that may not seem to mean much but in reality can mean everything.



One thing that really stands out lately is usernames. I'm not trying to embarrass anyone but a look around the user list is a little surprising to me. So let me ask you. If it's your intent to get in better shape do you think a username like fatandlazy is helping you out? NO. I'm not sure that bigbooty and Outtashape is planting the right subliminal message either.



You see we are going to be what we believe. Our inner world shapes our outer world. You can try hard to get in shape, drop a few pounds, or whatever. But if your inner beliefs don't match your goal your fighting an uphill battle. If you do reach your goal (which is unlikely) what will probably happen next is that you'll backslide. You got thin, wealthy, whatever, but your inner beliefs didn't match your outer world so guess what happens? That's right, your outer world will reconfigure itself to match what's inside. You'll lose the money, gain the weight, lose the great new guy, etc.

Another reason why Breakpal is so good for you.

I only bring this up because I have been suffering with poison oak this last week, as fate would have it I'm terribly allergic to it and live right in the thick of it. This week the only exercises I could do were Tai Chi breathing exercises, to visualize what health was like.

I'm back on my training regimen today and it feels great! Even missing a few days of working out changes my mood. Not to mention the side effects of medication. If you live above 5,000 feet or in a concrete jungle you may never know the pain of the poison oak. But that's O.K., I've experienced enough pain for all of us.

If you should ever be struck down by it I'd like to share my experience with you.

#1. We all touch our face far more than we think we do.
#2. We can be all "looks don't matter" until our face swells up. Then trust me vanity kicks in, hence the doctors visit.
#3. I'm a fine print reader, the cream the doctor prescribed says a side effect is a rash on the face...hmmm, that's why I'm here!
#4. I'm all for the homeopathic approach but a little more disclosure would be nice.

Keep Chiseling!

With only 9 days left in January I am stuck thinking about
how quickly the 1st month of the new year has flown by and
how I didn’t get to all the new year new projects I
outlined for myself…we’ll call them “resolutions” .

Did you get to all of yours? I didn’t think so.

The first few weeks everyone is always gung ho. When it
comes to working out this means sore muscles and adjusting
your schedule. We constantly find excuses as to why we can
no longer work out like “It hurts” or “I don’t have
time”, you know the excuses, you’re the one who comes up
with them.

We’ll this is the time to keep going, to re-commit to
your health and fitness goals. I’ll help you:

1. Congratulate yourself on what you have already
accomplished! So maybe you didn’t work out 5 days a week
since the 1st of Jan. Congratulate yourself on the two days
a week you did instead of beating yourself up for the three
days you didn’t.
