Keeping in Shape while Traveling
I work for an internet travel show called Jet Set Zero as a camera man so I'm constantly lugging a 15 pound camera around wherever I go. Since I'm traveling a lot I don't have the luxury of going to the local gym so I use what I have or things that I've found along the way.
I usually keep the camera in it's bag which is perfect for doing curls, lifts, and squats while holding the bag with both arms stretched forwards. I also just do the basics like pushups and situps every morning as you can do those anywhere. It's also a great way to wake up in the morning but even if you can't do a lot, just do what you can and slowly your body will get stronger.
I walk a lot as well and to keep my legs in tip top shape I always use the stairs or if I'm using the escalator I never just stay put. It's what escalators where originally intended for, as a fast way to walk up stairs, not for standing on.
Sometimes while traveling I've found random objects to use like, for example, a bowling ball! Yes while living in Tokyo, I found a random bowling ball on the sidewalk. I took it home, washed it off and found I could use it for so many different exercising techniques! Keep a keen eye out for things like that as you'll never know what you can substitute for expensive exercise equipment.
Remember, never be sedative. Keep moving. Jog, dance, smile, all these things help with staying healthy!
Happy trails!

Escalators
I love walking up the escalator and the looks I get from people who are just standing... although I have had those days where I just stand and let it do the work...but I move over for the walkers.
