Chair Yoga - Leg Stretch

Simple & Easy

Wow! This was so easy and relaxing. On my way to a better me :)

Great!

I could really feel it in my legs. Simple and easy. I am going to have to put something under my desk chair. I have hardwood floors (work from home) and I felt myself starting to roll a bit. LOL

Cross at the ankle and it

Cross at the ankle and it will have the same effect working your flexibility slowly.

Quick, easy, and effective. I'm glad someone had asked about not being able to cross the leg over the other, I can do it with my left leg, but not my right, so I just did it as close as I could. Maybe after a couple weeks including this stretch I'll finally be able to cross it over. :)

flexibility

Is your right leg getting more flexible?

chair moving

I feel like my chair is going to roll away from under me. Am I sitting too far forward on the chair?

chair moving

Try scooting back a few inches. Your rear and a few inches of your thighs should be on the chair. After you extend the leg and flex the foot, pay careful attention to fold at the hips instead of pushing back/w the heel. If you push back with the heel the chair will definitely move.

Try this and let me know.

Thanks

Thanks this did help. I love the stretches at the end.

I can't believe how good this

I can't believe how good this feels! Super simple!

Leg Stretch

Wonderfully effective!

alternative if you can't cross legs

This stretch feels wonderful! But the end, for the release, I am too fat/unflexible to cross my leg over. What is an alternative?

Yoga Leg stretch

My knee has been hurting me for several weeks and I am in physical therapy. This is one of the exercises I have been given to do. Those of us who sit at a desk most of the day develop very tight back leg muscles. This is a good way to counteract that tightness. Thanks for adding it!

Your welcome

Hello Twiggy,

Yes tight hamstrings are really a problem from sitting to long. I get them too as well as tight hip flexors. I was telling Liz I think we need to really concentrate on these two muscles.
