The Life You Save May Be Your Own

Submitted by Anonymous on Mon, 2009-03-16 18:56

My new job was a godsend financially, but at 40-something, my body was starting to rebel: I stare at a computer almost continuously, and my fingers are more muscular than the rest of me combined. Some days I only get out of my chair twice -- once to go to lunch and once to go home. As soon as I spotted it, I recognized that this program is SUCH a life-saver -- and I mean that literally! What I like best is that it is so much easier to talk myself into 3 minutes of exercise than half an hour. Instead of ending the day feeling twice my age and heading for the couch for another bout of sitting, I'm starting to reach the end of my work-day day feeling roughly my age, willing (and able) to run errands or do a bit of housecleaning. I even find myself getting up during TV time to do a few of the quick exercises during commercials, and believe me, I'm the most (pleasantly) surprised person in the room when that happens!

Awesome

You make a really good point. Once you get in the habit of exercising, even if it's just in small bouts, you end up wanting to do more.

It's when you site for hours and hours that you eventually feel to exhausted to do anything. At that point it becomes very hard to motivate to do anything. Especially exercise.

Great job MrsElaineous
