About Mrselaineous

I used to be incredibly fit and active. As a child and teen I figure-skated, played basketball and volleyball and walked *everywhere*. Until a couple of years ago I hiked and rode my bike, practiced yoga and tried to stay active. Moving to Houston caused me to take up the sport of Moving As Little As Possible to Avoid Death By Sweating. My new job doesn't help either: I stare at a computer and my fingers are more muscular than the rest of me combined. Some days I only get out of my chair twice -- once to go to lunch and once to go home.

This program is SUCH a life-saver -- literally! What I like best is that it is so much easier to talk myself into 3 minutes of exercise than half an hour. Instead of ending the day feeling twice my age and heading for the couch for another bout of sitting, I'm starting to reach the end of my work-day day feeling roughly my age, willing to run errands or do a bit of housecleaning. I even find myself getting up during TV time to do a few exercises.

I'm looking for some real point competition out there!!!!

HI

Thanks for being my friend. I am happy to hear that this is working for you. I am still new but I do enjoy the 3 minute break from the work day. Good luck on your continued work outs and i hope to talk to you again.

RE: Competition

Well, I've probably got a lot of folks beat at time spent in front of the computer, but since my day is a series of emergencies small and large -- and soon forgotten, I might add -- I sometimes only get a chance to wave at Liz when she pops up on my computer, which is such a shame. However, I have trained my office compatriots to listen for the sound of Liz's voice before they round the corner into my office to serve up the next emergency, otherwise they will be required to finish the exercise with me! Seriously though, knowing myself and my tendency to rationalize and procrastinate and sometimes be just plain pig-headed, there will definitely be times and days and possibly weeks when I will need to feel the breath of someone else's points nipping at my heels to force me down the right path.

Competition

I'd love some point competition if you're up to it; im not sure if we're equal competition or not lol; really depends on how much time i spend sitting around on the computer

Welocme!
